Speaking safely behind a podium at the World Economic Forum, protected by thousands of armed Swiss soldiers, Chrystia Freeland, Canada's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, said that the America's middle class needs "to take a pay cut."

Freeland made this comment back in 2013, she's talking about the globe. Here she is, same year, writing in The Atlantic:

Alternatively, if members of the middle class, particularly the struggling middle class in America, don't have skills that are as highly valued, should they expect to be paid a higher wage than people in other parts of the world?

Freeland, who makes some $420,000 per year, wants middle America to subsidize workers in Ukranian sweetshops.
